MISSIONS OFFERINGS

Cooperative Program

Through the Cooperative Program, Southern Baptists channel resources to support a variety of missions and ministry efforts to advance the gospel. Together Southern Baptists fund Christian higher education, church leader training, new church plants and missionaries who serve across North America and around the world.

Eliza Brodus Offering

The Eliza Brodus Offering is collected through WMU to support missions efforts in the state of Kentucky. Eliza Brodus served 50 years with Kentucky WMU and also made valuable contributions to national WMU. In 1913 she led Kentucky WMU to promote annual offering for state missions among all the churches. Her legacy of service lives on today through the Eliza Brodus Offering.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering supports missions efforts across North America. Annie Armstrong lived in Baltimore, Maryland and served in several state-wide positions as well as with the national WMU. Her innovative and tireless efforts to promote missions still have an influence on missions education concepts and practices to this day. In March of 1895 Armstrong helped organize and promote a special offering to help the Home Mission Board. An annual offering for home missions has been collected in March ever since.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

For more than 100 years the Lottie Moon Offering has been collected annually in December to support missionaries serving internationally. The namesake of this offering, Lottie Moon, served as an international missionary for 39 years in China during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Her experiences prompted her to challenge Southern Baptists to go to China to serve or give so that others could go. Today, the money given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is used to spread the good news of Christ to all parts of the world.
